About the PHQ-9
The PHQ-9 was developed by Drs. Robert Spitzer, Janet Williams, and Kurt Kroenke and is in the public domain. It asks about the nine diagnostic criteria for major depression over the past two weeks and is widely used both for initial screening and for tracking symptoms during treatment — including ketamine therapy, where clinics typically administer it before each session to measure response.
